In our garden we produce a variety of vegetables. We are still in the process of trying out different varieties and forms of cultivation to find what suits us and this place best. The garden is a key for interaction on our farm, for training, education, learning the work with the horses and the exchange about varieties, cultivation possibilities, marketing and public relations.
The work in the garden involves a lot of manual labor, supported by our tool carriers and the horses. Our vision is to gradually run the garden fossil-free and to create a permanent place for our working horses in agriculture.
We try to tailor our production to the wishes of our customers and market most of our vegetables directly. We produce a wide selection for our farm store and restaurants and stores in Oslo and the surrounding area.
Another important goal is to provide our community with good, varied food all year round. In our large kitchen we process our own products, including jam, juice and fermented vegetables.
This enables us to provide our visitors and seminar guests in the guest house with healthy, varied, organic food that we produce almost entirely on our farm.
The vegetable garden covers an area of around 2 hectares, including our two greenhouses for cucumbers and tomatoes. We have fresh vegetables in the summer and storage vegetables for the winter, which we can store in our spacious cellars without using electricity until the following spring.
